widgets that trigger log processing (no replies)

Hello,

I am curious to know whether widgets that are configured to display their output in real-time (when created) trigger the regular archiving process or one that is geared towards producing only the output for the widget.

Also is it possible to change the preference of real-time / wait for cron once the widget is deployed.
