mismatch between visit and referrer (no replies)

Hello

What can be the reason for a difference between number of visits shown in the graph of the referrer tab and the number of visits shown in the graph at the visitor tab.
in the visitor tab i have ~60K visits and in the referrer tab only 50K visits
