So I set up piwik to remove the URL footprint which appears in the javascript by following the tutorial below:

Seems to work fine, but the problem is my website is showing up slow in my performance tests.
I tracked it down to the call it makes to piwik.php.
Does it really take 8 seconds to run that script. Is their anyway to speed this up.
-Both the website and the domain where I set up my Piwik Install are on the same shared server.
-I am using wordpress and the W3 Total Cache plugin but still slow.
Any ideas?
