Piwik not sending reports automatically (1 reply)

Hi there,

Ive been looking into a problem on a piwik install of about 100-200 sites. The install is set up to email people on a monthly basis with report data, but this month that has not happened. The piwik version is 1.11.1 and Ive confirmed the following things:
  • PHP can send email
  • The archive.sh cron job runs correctly
  • The system is able to email a report manually
The cron line for the archive is
5 * * * * /home/piwik/public_html/misc/cron/archive.sh > <home dir>/piwik-archive.log
And i can not find any errors in its execution.

Does anyone know where I should be looking for issues, or is there any known issues with sending PDF reports in this version?

Hi, I get a:
Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in <b>/analytics/plugins/UserCountryMap/Controller.php on line 175

When calling:
/analytics/index.php?module=Widgetize&action=iframe&widget=1&moduleToWidgetize=UserCountryMap&actionToWidgetize=realtimeMap&idSite=all&period=day&date=2013-05-06

Same when calling multiple sites with idSite=10,18 etc

Is there a way to show all sites or a selection of sites on the realtime visitor map?

Piwik Log in issue , Form security failed. (no replies)

Hi ,

I facing the issue during the piwik login, some times i am receiving the below error and unable to login , after multiple atttemps i am able to log into the piwik , please refer the attchment for the error.

Form security failed. Please reload the form and check that your cookies are enabled. If you use a proxy server, you must configure Piwik to accept the proxy header that forwards the Host header. Also, check that your Referer header is sent correctly.
================================================================================================

piwik version is 1.10.1
Please help to advice how to fix this issue , thank you

Stopping progress reports on log import (no replies)

I have a large number of log files to import and would like to turn off the progress reports in an attempt to speed up the import process. There are 2 python switches which suggest this is possible but I require a little clarification.

--show-progress Print a progress report X seconds (default: 1, use --show-progress-delay to override)
--show-progress-delay=SHOW_PROGRESS_DELAY

Which of the above should be used to turn off progress reporting?

Export CSV not working after upgrading to 1.11.1 (no replies)

Hi

I have upgraded our Install to 1.11.1 (Latest Version). Now the Export To CSV is not working properly. It only exports the data in the First row and ignore all other rows.
e.g I generate a Page Titles report for a specific period. It gives me couple of Top level page names (assume alpha,beta,charlie and delta) . Then I choose to make the report FLAT and it gave me the detailed report as expected including all (alpha,beta,charlie and delta). Then I choose Export the report to CSV. I got the report but it includes only the Report for First Top level Page i.e Alpha.

This used to work before the upgrade.

Can you please look into this.

Simple PHP tracking (no replies)

Hello,

I found piwik as an alternative to analytics from Google, and one of the things I like from Piwik is the fact that it offers tracking alternatives than Javascript. I need to avoid javascript to get better page speeds by reducing external JS resources, that's why I thought about PHP.
However, I'm not a php programmer and I don't know how to customize the PHP code for tracking.

What I need is simple: I run a big dedicated server and I need to insert some php tracking code inside my footer.php of each blog I have, I just need to have common features like uniq visitors, pageviews, seach keywords and so on.

Can anyone please share a generic PHP tracking code for that?

Securing Piwik behind SSL-Proxy impossible? (no replies)

Hi,
first of all i want to say that i love piwik and i am very happy that it is available and that it has such many possibilities.
Piwik is wonderful, handy and easy to manage and i use it since the beginning.

But i must say that Piwik definitely lacks a good implementation of beeing used with an ssl-proxy.
To get tracking up and running behind an ssl-proxy is not to easy and to secure the piwik installation behind an ssl-proxy is really pain in the ass.
I am sorry for the "hard words" but i am trying to figure out how to get this running and i cant get it.
The SSL-How-To's i found are all about "real https".
I read the ssl-proxy threads in the forums (i would say that there are many, which show that there is a need for an ssl-proxy implementation) but couldnt get a solution for my problem.

I am pretty sure that there are many people who would like to use piwik but get problems with the ssl-proxy and stop trying.
It could be that i dont know about problems or security issues with ssl-proxies which are reasons for no implementation.
I am open to hear and learn about such things if somebody is willing to explain.


Well, enough complaining....

I could get Piwik installed using the proxy but it didnt get the proxy adress automatically.

force_ssl=1 and assume_secure_protocol = 1 seem to work only with "real https" not with a ssl-proxy

Well i managed it with .htaccess to get the urls which are not https to be forwarded to https over the ssl-proxy but the pictures dont show up.

The links to the pictures are https://mysslproxy.com/templates.... so the mysubdomain.domain.com/ is missing after the sslproxy.
If i try to change the paths in global.ini.php under 
[smarty]
; the list of directories in which to look for templates
template_dir[]	= plugins
template_dir[]	= themes/default
template_dir[]	= themes

by adding mysubdomain.domain.com/ it doesnt work. Actually it looks like as if this is ignored. The paths to the pictures remain the same.

Maybe it is a matter of ssl-proxy and subdomain which makes it even harder to get this running.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a site that redirects from http > https. I have read the following info but I am lost on the solution if there is one.

Check that the Piwik domain name in your Javascript tracking code is correct (this URL is in the second line of the Piwik tracking code).
There have been cases of missing referrers when the Piwik JS code in the pages points to a URL that returns a 302 response instead of the final destination. It seems that some webserver compromise the tracking request when such redirects occur. Check in particular if the URL (doesn't) contains "www.". Also, if the server does an automatic redirection from http to https which also affects tracking requests to piwik.php, it might create problems such as missing referer data. Make such any http->https redirection excludes piwik.php requests.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

View Analytics By Page? (no replies)

Hi,

What is the best way to get piwik to show all the available analytics for a single page?

e.g.
- referrers
- keywords
- visitors
- annotations

Kind of like how you can filter all the data by date range - but in this case I'm trying to filter all the data by page or url.

ip and fqdn tracking at the same time (no replies)

Hello,

I have recently setup the piwik to track one site using its ip address - this was done during the dev phase. Now we went live and site has a FQDN now. Since we switch to the FQDN there are no statistics anymore - only when I access it by ip I can se some statistics.
I was wondering can we change this behavior without affecting the previous settings? Can we track bot the new FQDN address and the ip address access to this site?

Problems with IIS and Piwik (no replies)

Hello people.

Im using Piwik in Linux and Windows and I have a lot of problems running it on IIS.

The problems are always of the same style:

I have tried with IIS 7.5 and 8. PHP 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4, little logs (rarely crashes) and medium or large logs (frecuently crashes), python 2.6 and python 2.7...always this problem. I include download and install piwik with IIS Wep Platform...the same happens.

Another thing is that if I process the logs in the linux system, redirecting them to the Windows system, the process fails too, but, if I process THE SAME LOG in the windows system to the Linux System (with Piwik installed) or ALL THE PROCESS in the Linux System, ALL GOES WELL and the <urlopen error None> NEVER HAPPENS.

I think that its an IIS+ PHP configuration, but I dont get better results. I attach the log to verify it, but in Linux System it is 100% processed without the error.

Any ideas?

The file is a RAR with .pdf added to avoid the extension restrictions.

hello,

I'm searching for a long time ... but I can't find a response. May be there is the solution ... but I can't understand !

I have a small network for my family's use (8 peoples): a firewall (IPFire 2.13 (i586) - core67) with 4 areas (red, orange, blue, green). In the orange's area, I have 2 PCs with LAMP on ubuntu (12.04) for personal's blogs with piwik 1.11.1.

I have web sites on the server #1 and on the server #2 with different urls. I use pound on the IPFire firewall as reverse proxy.

The problem is : in piwik, I only have the IP of the orange interface (192.168.2.1) ... so I haven't all the others informations : country, IP, ...

Could you help me ? (I'm not a professionnal !)

How can I import visits into Piwik from a csv obtained from the Visitor Log plugin? Is this possible without custom scripts to manipulate the database? if not, are there some guidelines on how to write such script?

Hi,

My data is not being shown. I am using IE9 or Chrome. It says I have 0 hits, but when I log into the Android App, it shows the full month. I have in Piwik, specified to show the current Month.

Class 'Zend_Exception' not found (no replies)

I've just copied the latest Piwik folder to a new 'analytics' folder in my webserver hosted by IIS on Windows 2008 Server. I tried going to http://www.mydomain.com/analytics/piwik/index.php to start the installation after creating a MySQL database and user, where I was told I needed to execute some 'cacls' commands. I started with the first 'tmp' directory it requested, then refreshed the index.php page and have been given this error:


Fatal error: Class 'Zend_Exception' not found in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\analytics\piwik\libs\Zend\Exception.php on line 39


I cannot seem to continue with the installation since I continually get this error when trying to go to this page.
