After upgrading to 2.2 I can no longer select websites to view (no replies)

I updated to 2.2 yesterday and performed the database update. However the dashboard screen (actually the header) no longer shows the dropdown for my sites. Though it isn't important, it also doesn't show the version of Piwik. All permissions and ownership are correct and the settings screen still shows all sites.

Any thoughts on how to get my functionality back?
